Capricorn Dancers, Day 74 – What bird is that?

Day 74 Sunday 8/8/21 Mulambin, sunny 22

We have breakfast in the sun chatting with the neighbours. All are worried Victorians wondering when and how they’ll get home. Some are a bit too frail to be making a long dash.

Woody walks to Rosslyn Bay and back and I drive to Shelly’s Beach at Emu Park. Houses are perched on steep blind hills above a sweeping beach. Even with the long lens I can’t quite identify some birds sitting proudly on the far rocks. I ask a man who is walking his dog. “I only know one bird” he says “Chicken!”. Islands of the Keppel Group dot the horizon. Frisky hermit crabs rumble and tumble along the sand as each wave curls in.

South East Queensland lockdown ends. Cairns goes into lockdown.

    1. You have to laugh don’t you. The ads tell us to get out and see the country, support the locals. It’s enough trying to stay away from cities and the likelihood of catching anything but keeping up with the changing rules of in our case 3 states gets a little confusing. Crazy, crazy times.
