Day 9 Monday 19/8/2024 Quorn, overcast, storm threatening, 9 – 21
Walking around town to do a little shopping VeeWee and I detour along First St to try and find the Capowie Creek rail bridge that is noted on Google maps. I’m hoping for something unusual and VeeWee is complaining that if we don’t find it soon her frozen fish will thaw. Woody on the other hand does the walk twice!

After lunch I have a poke around the Lions Club farm machinery museum. Some of the equipment evokes childhood memories, but the really old stuff brings admiration for those people and horses who pushed and pulled those old iron ploughs in summer rock hard dirt.

Across the road from our camp is the Bush Tucker Trail with its saltbush hedges and delightful gardens. Meanwhile, back at camp Woody prepares a Thai curry for dinner.
A storm approaches and we get some colourful clouds during happy hour. Lightning flashes with a couple of booms, a few loud plops and then…it’s all over.
Accom: $18.00

Yep, must have been a tough life back then. Love a good Thai curry!

What upsets me about old museums like that is how much stuff I actually remember being part of daily life!

I would really like that museum – as I do the sundown picture

Plenty of stuff that my Dad would’ve kept, because it was too good to throw out and could be turned into something else.
