Day 9 Sunday 13/10/2024 Yackandandah to Melbourne
It’s a quick cruise down the highway, leaving the state’s North East behind. As the traffic isn’t heavy, we decide to take the rather circuitous ‘shortcut’ through Heidelberg. Whoops, what were we thinking? The controversial ‘Ring Road’ construction has progressed quite a bit in the last few months and is now a ‘spaghetti & penne’ of cranes and tunnels. Can’t we just turn around now and leave town?

Your fuel bill seems remarkably low. As for any mention of Heidelberg and the Ring Road, well let’s just say I’d want to be turning back too!

Since we swapped the Jeep for the Touareg we’ve noticed a big improvement in economy and servicing costs too.
