Day 17 Monday 30/6/2025 Wooli, wet 72mms of rain 13 – 16 degrees.
So much for going north to get warm. It rained all night, but thankfully Woody set the awning at a sharp angle to allow the water to run off.
By 6:30am the rain is heavy but the caravan park grounds seem to be coping with it. Not like the last time we stayed here in 2020 when the puddles were so deep that we had to wear gumboots to the pub. Now the park has been upgraded with new roadways, guttering and camp sites.
It rains all day, we constantly watch the warnings on our phones and it seems that the worst of the rain and flooding is 100 kms south of here in a nasty front that runs down to below Sydney. We have a day inside with quick wet walks around the park.
Dinner is butter chicken.
Accom: $29.00

I’m starting to think that gumboots need to be permanently in our van too.

When my daughter was spending time in Sydney she went up north to get warm – it seems not worth it now

And a lovely winter in Melbourne, we’ve heard. Usually when you get wet we get dry.

We could have done with that rain over here!

That’s for sure.

Yep, that darned rain! I visited Adelaide once when it poured down for a week – I enjoyed the art museum and the clothes stores however.

That 72mm is about what we copped at The Entrance on our way back south in August. So much for escaping Melbourne’s ‘bad weather’. Cheers

Oh yes, we know that weather event well, too well. We really would have had better weather in Melbourne this year.
