Day 60 Thursday 6/8/2026 Mulambin, cloudy 15 – 21

Here we go again, hair colouring morning. Whilst my head is wrapped in cling wrap Woody feeds those bloody horses again.

After lunch we are heading to Emu Park when a warning light comes on. It’s the DPF, Diesel Particulate Filter. Yep, that’s what Double or Nuthin’s Toyota recall was about the other day. Google tells us that we must take the car for a ‘bit of a burn’ to burn the excess soot out of the filter. Woody goes off to put the VW through its paces. I walk Tanby Beach where I meet a staff member of Rockhampton Grammar’s outward-bound school on Ritamada Point. She is driving an ATV along the beach, and she tells me that she has the best job there is. Today she’s taking a bunch of Japanese kids kayaking and bushwalking. Good on her!

Dinner is chicken schnitzel.
