Sept 2022, Nambucca Heads, NSW
The whip birds are whipping. On the beach, the air smells of spring flowers. It’s so nice to be back here again. The morning is glorious, and the light is brighter here, sunglasses bright.
We have lots of walks, one can walk for miles here. Woody even walks up to the IGA on the highway, too far for me.
We make plans for the trip home and relax before the last leg. In the evening we’re surprised to see that people have fires here and close to vans. We mention this to management and are told that the fire pits that are in use are approved. We’re glad they’re not close to our vans.
We cook barramundi and chips for dinner and settle in to watch King Charles’ proclamation.
We take walks along the V Wall breakwater and the river where dolphins are swimming, and the beaches. On my way back to camp I spot a Lewis’s Honeyeater and at happy hour yellow-tailed black cockatoos fly overhead.

It’s always good to see nature at work, in this case dolphins and the lovely birdlife!
