Day 8 Friday 10/5/24 Renmark, sunny 23

It’s time to do a spot of washing and cleaning before we move on.

Around the perimeter of the caravan park there is a levee bank which is another reminder of the riverine floods that crept slowly down the Murray causing much damage a few years back.

After lunch Woody walks into town and I drive in to join him for a drink at the Renmark Hotel and we’re so glad we did. The community owned hotel has kept its art deco design throughout and we’re directed to a museum on the 1^st floor.

Back at camp, a couple have set up a swag beside us. While they go off for a walk a bunch of swamphens knock over their food basket and then scurry in all directions with packs of biscuits. Directly behind us is a row of ‘glamping’ tents, each with a claw foot bath on the veranda. I don’t think I’d be all that pleased sitting up there toasting the view… of caravans.

Dinner is an air fryer pizza.
