The woman in the van beside us sings. She sings in the toilet, she sings in the van, she sings in the park. Her husband says that she sings in her sleep. I shouldn’t complain, she has a beautiful voice and she’s deliriously happy.

It was a beautiful place, a caravan park right on the town lake. It was incredibly hot, 40c. We were with our club and had planned cooking an Italian dinner so we laid out a long table beside the lake in true Italian fashion and enjoyed the food and the setting.

Sounds like paradise, but being a fair-skinned Brit who hardly sees any sun, 40C would have me swooning!
