Day 96 Monday 14/9/20 Mylestom, sunny hot 24
A warm morning yet there’s dew on the grass.
We drive into Toormina and Coffs Harbour for a spot of shopping. Shopping has a way of sapping time so we grab a bite to eat at the boat harbour. Spring rolls and flake and chips which is pretty exciting for us Victorians and I must explain. You see, fish and chips is always flake (shark) and chips in Victoria. In other states one must specify which fish that you would like from those on offer, rarely is flake on the menu. I digress, at Coffs boat harbour it’s a perfect day and the parks and beaches are popular. We return home via Sawtell.
I head to the beach for a quick walk before happy hour. A gentleman and his French bulldog emerge from the track, “Watch out” he says “There’s a big dog in there” pointing to the dune track. I enter the shady trail to find a timid little chihuahua. “Oh, he shrank.” He says.

Shark and chips sounds beyond exotic to a Brit! Why ‘flake’? Because it does? I expected shark would be solid and meaty.

Yes, probably because it is a firm and flaky fish. I’m sure all Victorians would tell you that it’s delicious.

That Tern makes me think it needs a mauve twinset to go with its perm and necklace. 🙂
